My sister said to me the other day “Your career planning software is no good to me – I am not interested in a career”. However, I know she definitely wants a great work-experience and more importantly a lifestyle balance. She typifies a lot of people that we work with in many organizations. The reality is each one of us wants something different from our work – so Worktopia is probably something different for me than it is for you.
The secret to Worktopia in my view is having a clear understanding of your top work criteria, sharing it with your significant others – and in particular your manager.
My Worktopia is the opportunity to work anytime I want, when I want – I am writing this blog in a bikini with the stunning view that you can see in the attached picture. I have also worked at the top of the French Alps (another couple of examples needed here) with my bike between me and my snow-capped mountain view. I love having time to think, write and inspire great career experiences. That to me is Worktopia!
